  Built on a reinforced concrete slab that serves as a thermal mass passively absorbing heat, paired with a weatherproof infrared reflecting exterior coating, this home achieves an average of 15-20°F in passive cooling. The spherical shape also provides incredible wind resistance able to withstand 160+ mph gusts. This far exceeds what a wooden walled structure is capable of withstanding.

• Microgrid Energy System:
  Our Athos platform is powered by a 16kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and a 5kW inverter, enabling continuous operation of HVAC and refrigeration. A 3.4kW solar array rapidly recharges the system. We will perform a solar analysis for your location and energy demands to properly size the system.

• Heating & Cooling.
  A propane water heating system, fueled by easily replaceable 20lb propane tanks. This reduces the electrical consumption, and a single tank will last for over 70-80 showers. The spherical shape and high 12 ft ceiling also aid the HVAC system allowing excellent temperature distribution. Lastly, high-quality insulation maintains whatever temperature you choose.

• Water Management:
  Includes a 2,500-gallon water storage tank with passive water heating, an optional rainwater capture system, sediment filtration and high-pressure pump. We will also perform a rain analysis from historical weather data to determine how much water you can capture per year.

• Remote Monitoring:
  All systems feature remote IoT monitoring and data historization:

  • Battery SoC levels, total energy use, temperature and  charge/discharge rates.

  • Water pump performance and energy use. Including leak detection algorithm.

  • Water tank levels and alarming/notifications when low.

  • Solar/PV power generation and soiling algorithm to detect when panels are dirty.

  • Inverter power consumption and temperature.
